Graveyard

graveyard

Much of the history of Morley can be traced through St Peter’s graveyard including the terrible cholera outbreak of 1849 and the Morley Main Colliery Disaster of 1872.  Many Morley folk past and present have family members buried here.  You are free to explore the graveyard for family history research, but please remember that there are many recent graves, which family members tend and visit regularly.  Please treat the grounds with respect.  Keep all dogs on a leash and pick up (and take away) any mess.

Please note that the Churchyard be closed to further burials as the grounds are full.
